June 07, 2022

Japan National Orchestra Co., Ltd. (JNO) made an appearance at the Musikfest Nara 2022 held in Nara Prefecture, where the orchestra’s activities are based. It held a concert at the Nara Prefecture Cultural Hall on June 3.
In addition to ten of its resident soloists, JNO welcomed oboist Christoph Hartmann of the Berlin Philharmonic and pianist Keigo Mukawa as guest performers.
Together, they performed a special selection of pieces that included the “Piano Quintet” by Franz Shubert, popularly known as the “Trout Quintet,” as well as the “Septet” by Camille Saint-Saëns and the “Nonet” by Louis Spohr.
With all tickets sold out by the day preceding the concert and over 1,200 people in attendance on June 3, the event was a resounding success.

JNO will continue its vigorous efforts to convey the charm of Nara to people both within and outside Japan through the power of music. Please continue to support the orchestra and look forward to what it has in store.
